Correction on your statement that wooden armor didn’t exist. The Tlingit warriors of southeastern Alaska made armor out of wooden slats, a google search of this will give you an idea of how it worked.

Interesting. Also the transition to Chinese coins as they became available through trade. Incidentally, this stuff was made from Yew, originally. In retrospect, I’m not surprised an actual example exists. I just couldn’t find it, on short notice.
