Well, since Michi has copped to writing fanfiction as a hobby, that is out there.
Most of my recreational writing is a slightly more abrasive relative of my posts here. That is to say, I snark at people on forums. Though, it does have more of a media analysis bent.
My recreational fiction writing almost always builds into one of our settings. So those get attached to one of the setting bibles for later use.
This is actually one of the biggest differences in our writing. I tend to create very complex settings with a lot of simultaneous activity that I can section off into different stories that bounce off one another. I also have a bad habit of tying my settings together after the fact. While Michi trends towards settings for specific stories that can be discarded when the next one rolls around.
As to what we write. We mostly focus on the horror side of urban fantasy. I skew into sci-fi urban fantasy, while Michi has a slight bias towards classic fantasy elements blended into a modern setting.
